Before applying any physical modalities, I begin by testing your core movement patterns using the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) or the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). This provides clinical direction for your session. I then use a combination of hands-on techniques, foam rollers, and elastic bands to address restrictions. During treatment, I may work with you lying down and standing while walking, bending, and twisting to reinforce postural reflexes. You may also receive recorded movement demonstrations and prescribed corrective exercises from your assessment.
Sessions are held in my private treatment office at my residence in Baltimore (Locust Point). The space is quiet, comfortable, private, and designed specifically for therapeutic work.
Traditional massage therapy focuses on relaxation and muscle tension relief. My approach begins with a movement assessment (FMS or SFMA) to guide treatment. Rolfing Structural Massage is active: you may move during treatment while I apply 2-second myofascial techniques to improve alignment, mobility, and structural balance. This approach targets long-term movement improvement, not just short-term relaxation.
Appointments are typically 60-90 minutes. Unlike many practitioners, I do not cut sessions off strictly at one hour if your body requires additional work. The focus is on therapeutic outcome, not time limits.
A light meal beforehand is fine. After your session, it's recommended to walk, stay hydrated, and allow your body to integrate the changes. Many clients notice improved posture and movement immediately after treatment.
I provide receipts that may be submitted to insurance providers for potential reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance company directly. Payment is required after each session, and financial responsibility remains with the client.
The initial session is $200 for 90 minutes and includes consultation, movement testing, therapy, and corrective exercise prescription. Follow-up sessions are $180 for 75 minutes. Many clients require only one or two follow-ups if they consistently follow their corrective program.
Many clients begin weekly or biweekly sessions until initial progress is made, then transition to monthly maintenance depending on goals, activity level, and recovery needs.
In Baltimore, sessions are conducted in a private, climate-controlled room in my Locust Point home with views of the harbor. In New York, I work in a private room inside a professional clinic setting in SoHo. Both environments prioritize privacy, comfort, and focus.
Each session begins with movement testing (FMS or SFMA) to identify dysfunctions. Treatment includes table-based massage followed by active standing and movement-based work such as walking, twisting, and stretching while I apply timed myofascial techniques. This helps reinforce structural and functional changes in real time.
The 3 Point Plan combines movement testing, interactive therapy, and corrective exercise prescription. It improves posture, mobility, strength, and energy while reducing pain, imbalance, and injury risk. It also supports athletic performance, daily movement efficiency, and recovery.
This approach may support conditions such as back and neck pain, joint pain, sports injuries, arthritis, sciatica, post-surgical discomfort, muscle strain, TMJ issues, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel, headaches, fibromyalgia, and many movement-related dysfunctions. It is designed to improve overall structural and functional movement.
Clients include athletes, office workers, dancers, construction workers, medical professionals, and more. This approach supports better posture, strength, mobility, injury prevention, and performance in both daily life and sport.
This system combines clinical movement assessment with hands-on structural work and corrective exercise programming. Unlike passive modalities, every session is guided by measurable movement data and designed to create lasting structural change and functional improvement.
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed appointments are charged the full session fee. If I need to cancel, you will be offered a rescheduled or complimentary session.
